Honorary Degrees

Posted on November 24, 2025

The Academic Senate seeks nominations for honorary degree candidates. Nominated candidates are evaluated by the Board Academic Affairs Committee, and, if approved by the Committee, candidates remain in the approved candidate pool for up to three years. The honorary degree policy and a list of previous awards are available.

Please make sure not to approach or inform any nominees directly. Institutional Advancement will approach nominees should they be approved as candidates by the Board. Candidates nominated and approved this year may be considered during any of the three succeeding years, so you are nominating individuals for the pool, not necessarily for receipt of a degree this year.

All Senate constituents (faculty, chairs, assistant chairs, teaching staff) are eligible to nominate by filling out the nomination form by Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 5pm.

Please include:

  • Names,
  • rationales for selection, and
  • links to key online information regarding each nominee (e.g., bio, vita, nominee website, etc.)

The Senate will elect up to six nominees for consideration by the Board Academic Affairs Committee. Please contact senate@pratt.edu with questions about these positions or nominations.
