Recommendations for Pratt’s Honorary Degree Candidates
Call For Faculty and Chair Recommendations for Pratt’s Honorary Degree Candidates
Due Monday, October 06, 5 PM
To Faculty and Chairs,
This is to solicit recommendations for Pratt Institute’s honorary degree candidate pool. Please send your recommendations to your representatives on the Senate or to the Senate Vice-president, Paul Dambowic, by 5:00 PM, Monday, October 06, 2014.
Please include your candidate’s curriculum vitae and a rationale for your selection. The Senate will, at its Tuesday, October 7th meeting, elect up to four nominees from the recommendations submitted. The Senate’s nominees will be forwarded to the Office of the Provost, which collects all recommendations at the institute level, to be forwarded for consideration by the Board of Trustees Committee on Academic Affairs.
For details about the institutional process, please see the following specifications, “administrative procedures related to the solicitation of Honorary Degree Candidates, 2014”
Please be advised that individuals are not to approach or inform any nominees directly. A list of past recipients of Pratt’s Honorary Degree is available on the Pratt website.
We are pleased to note that the Senate’s nominees in the past three years were among the honorary degree recipients and two were keynote speakers* – Janette Sadik-Khan* in 2011, Santiago Calatrava* in 2012 and Francoise Mouly in 2013. We, again, look forward to receiving your thoughtful recommendations.
Please feel free re-distribute this post to your respective departments and, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.
